“Ode to Rescue Dogs”

 As months have passed the lives of dogs we’ve saved
Have reached above three hundred at last count.
These pups have given joy in countless ways;
New families have thrived in great amount.

But many of our dogs still lie in wait
For people who will love them ever more
And while our task remains complex and great,
We’re here to serve them seven-24

So PLEASE for all of you who have a dog
That NDDR worked to help you to find,
Think of all our dogs who still need care,
And donate for their needs a gift in kind.

Yes – this poem is begging you for money,
But hey, at least we’re trying to be funny!
